Hampshire Food Festival
1-31 July (events across Hampshire)
Now in its 19th year, the Hampshire Food Festival offers a unique opportunity to discover award-winning independent producers on your doorstep, and learn about the inspiration behind them all.
From farm visits to vineyard tours, and artisan markets to cookery masterclasses, the Hampshire Food Festival serves up a tantalising menu of events and activities across the county.
Among the events local to us here in Hambledon is the Cellar Door Vineyard Tour (Friday 5 July), visiting four Cellar Doors at Hambledon, Hattingley Valley, Raimes English Sparkling and Cottonworth Wines.
Trout 'n About
Sunday 4 August, Stockbridge
Distance from Woodlands Retreat: 29 miles
This thriving local food festival takes place in Stockbridge on the first Sunday of August every year.
The town’s historic high street will be alive with activity, as live music fills the air and more than 100 stalls showcase quality local produce and crafts.
Rural life is also in the spotlight, with farm animals and vintage agricultural equipment on show, along with craft demonstrations.
Chilli Fiesta
Friday 9 – Sunday 11 August, West Dean Gardens
Distance from Woodlands Retreat: 19 miles
The UK’s biggest chilli festival, West Dean’s hugely popular Chilli Fiesta offers spicy foods from around the globe, live Latin music, a vintage funfair, cookery and gardening demonstrations, and plenty more besides.
Alongside workshops, music and dance, more than 140 shopping stalls are expected to attend, selling chilli gifts, plants, seeds and produce.
