Refresh and recharge
While many of us may have had to reconsider our holiday plans in these somewhat uncertain times, it does at least provide an opportunity to make the most of the amazing places and spaces available to us on home soil.
As venues and hospitality continue to emerge from their Covid-enforced slumber, there are fresh opportunities to begin socialising again and refresh, recharge and escape from the everyday, perhaps with a long weekend away.
The upcoming summer holidays may already be looking busy, but there’s plenty to explore - not only now, but later this summer and into the early autumn - here in the heart of the South Downs.
To give you some inspiration for your late summer staycation, we’ve rounded up a few of our local event and activity highlights, all of which provide something a little different and a taste of what the local area has to offer…
A step back in time at the Goodwood Revival
Friday 17 - Sunday 19 September (limited availability)
It’s back! One of the most eagerly-anticipated events on the social calendar, the Goodwood Revival offers a magical step back in time to a bygone era, where historic racing and vintage fashion go hand in hand: it’s the only sporting event of its kind to be staged entirely in a period theme.
There’s always something new to see and explore at this action-packed event, and this year is no different, with a celebration in store for the 70th anniversary of the Festival of Britain, a bigger and better Lavant Infield offering a glimpse of the stunning selection of 60s GT cars racing in the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy, and a new Make-Do and Mend area showcasing a range of restoration projects.
